Door-to-door

International door-to-door service on DDP and EXW terms

Door-to-door means delivery from the seller’s premises to the buyer’s: inland transport at both ends, export and import customs, and the international leg, all handled by one logistics company.

Booked leg by leg, a shipment passes through five different pairs of hands. Morning Logistics puts all of it on one contract, one quote and one coordinator.

  • One quote for the whole chain, with the total cost known upfront
  • One consistent document set, with nothing to reconcile between parties
  • Cargo insurance against the value of the shipment

Scope of work

What we handle

DDP model

Delivered Duty Paid: the seller carries every cost and risk right through to the buyer abroad, including duty and customs charges in the importing country.

EXW model

Ex Works: the buyer takes charge of collecting the cargo from the seller’s warehouse abroad and bringing it to its own, independent of the seller.

Collection at the warehouse

A truck comes to the shipper’s warehouse to pack, label and tally the cargo before it leaves the origin point.

Formalities at both ends

Export clearance in Vietnam and import formalities in the receiving country, carried out through our agent network at the far end.

Final leg delivery

Delivered to the warehouse, to site or to the store at the consignee’s address, with signed documents.

Cargo insurance

Cargo insurance taken out against the value of the shipment and the lane, with claims settled on the terms selected in the event of loss.

HS code and FTA advice

Applying the right HS code and using the duty preferences under the free trade agreements (FTAs) in force with the destination market.

Multimodal supply chain design

Ocean, air and road combined in one chain to balance the cost against the delivery date.

Fulfilment and bonded warehouse

Cargo held in a bonded warehouse, split by order and delivered piece by piece to the end customer, which suits cross border e-commerce.

Who this service suits

  • Companies with no logistics function of their own
  • Companies new to international markets

A door-to-door chain runs through five legs

  1. 01

    Collection

The truck goes to the shipper’s warehouse, tallies the cargo and brings it to the consolidation point.

  2. 02

    Export formalities

The export declaration is filed and the cargo is loaded onto the international carrier.

  3. 03

    International leg

By sea or by air, on the option fixed in the quote.

  4. 04

    Import clearance

The agent at destination handles import formalities and pays the duty where the term is DDP.

  5. 05

    Delivery to the door

Delivered to the consignee’s address, with the signed documents returned.

The table follows Incoterms 2020. DDP puts almost every obligation on the seller and EXW does the opposite. Morning Logistics acts as the party performing the work for whichever side carries the obligation.

What you get with Morning Logistics

  • The total cost is known upfront, with nothing added leg by leg along the way
  • One coordinator answers every question about the shipment
  • Lower legal risk, because the documents are consistent across the legs
  • Fits both recurring B2B shipments and cross border e-commerce

Door-to-door is not an Incoterms rule, it is a way of delivering the service

It runs on two delivery terms: DDP puts almost every obligation on the seller and EXW does the opposite. Morning Logistics acts as the party performing the work for whichever side carries the obligation.
