Towage
Towage means towing, pulling, pushing or standing by a vessel, both at sea and inside port waters. It gets vessels in and out of port safely and cuts the time they spend waiting at the berth.
Morning Logistics operates its tug fleet together with Mitsui O.S.K. Lines and Tan Cang Offshore Services, with more than 50,000 HP in total. The tugs carry bow thrusters and fire fighting systems, so they handle both towage and salvage.
Scope of work
Towing vessels alongside and off the berth, assisting turns in restricted water, working with the pilot and the port authority.
Escorting and taking vessels through narrow channels and areas of heavy traffic, which cuts the risk of collision in the channel.
Response to vessels aground, without power or in difficulty inside port waters, at the request of the owner, the agent or the port authority.
Assistance with launching newly built vessels and craft at the shipyard, large structures included.
Towing barges, floating docks and offshore structures, that is, any craft with no propulsion of its own.
The fleet carries fire fighting systems and oil spill response equipment, on standby for incidents inside port waters.
Running with the vessel through narrow channels, keeping watch and directing surrounding craft so it passes safely.
Raising sunken vessels and craft inside port waters, clearing the channel for other traffic.
The owner or the agent gives us the vessel particulars and the expected time alongside or off the berth.
We pick the number of tugs and the power needed from the deadweight, the draft and the channel conditions.
The tugs stand by at the position agreed, working with the pilot and the port authority.
The towage operation is completed, logged and handed back to the vessel.

The number of tugs on each job is decided by the port authority and the pilot, on the vessel’s deadweight, the channel conditions and the weather at the time of the operation.
The port authority and the pilot decide how many tugs and how much power each job takes, on deadweight, draft, channel and weather. The craft are the company’s own, so we control the dispatch schedule and depend on no subcontractor.
